Brown O’Connor, one of Belfast’s most prominent Public Affairs and Strategic Communications firms has established a new Dublin office, marking its expansion into the Republic of Ireland.

The new base on Merrion Square in Dublin will strengthen the advisory firm’s all‑Ireland footprint, allowing the agency to meet rising demand from businesses and organisations seeking experienced counsel on the political, regulatory, and media landscape.

Brown O’Connor Communications will now move to Brown O’Connor Ireland to reflect the growth of its all-island services and its expertise north and south. The new Dublin set up adds to the agency’s long term Belfast office on Adelaide Street.

The independently owned firm was set up in 2017 by Chris Brown and Arlene O’Connor in response to client need for services such as public affairs, media relations, crisis communications and litigation communications all under one roof.

The Dublin office will serve as a strategic centre for the firm’s work with trade bodies, financial institutions, law firms, regulated businesses, investors, healthcare representatives, interest groups and the public sector. It will also support the company’s expanding team, with new roles planned over the coming year in Dublin and Belfast.

Chris Brown, Director at Brown O’Connor Ireland, said:

“Our decision to invest in our new Dublin office is a natural next step for the business and has been an ambition for some time.”

“We’ve seen significant growth in the number of clients operating on both sides of the border. Establishing a permanent presence in Dublin allows us to deliver more responsive, locally informed support. This is a long term investment for us as we sharpen our focus on our island of Ireland offer, not just for clients here, but for clients across the UK seeking support north and south.”

“In the past year alone we have experienced upwards of 30% growth which reflects our significant new business wins and doing more for our established clients. We’re investing in the agency to ensure that momentum carries through even with economic and political uncertainty as the consistent backdrop.”

Arlene O’Connor, Director at Brown O’Connor Ireland added:

“There is a particular appetite for more support on an all-island basis, reflecting the dynamic business environment in which we operate.”

“Our expansion will ensure we continue to deliver the high‑quality insight, creativity, and strategic thinking clients have come to expect from us.”

“Our work in Belfast and wider NI will remain a focus with the opening of our new Dublin office strengthening our team’s ability to deliver the advice and expertise that matter most to the people we work with."
