Chris Lyttle

Chris Lyttle is Client Director at Brown O’Connor, advising private, public and third sector organisations on strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations and public affairs.
He brings extensive experience at the cross over of politics, public policy and strategic communications, helping organisations navigate complex policy and regulatory environments, build effective relationships with decision-makers and develop communications strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.
Prior to joining Brown O’Connor in 2024, Chris served as Head of Public Affairs at the Irish FA, leading engagement with government, policymakers and key stakeholders to support the development of football in Northern Ireland.
From 2010 to 2022, Chris was a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA), where he built a reputation for effective policy development, cross-party collaboration and legislative scrutiny. He chaired the Assembly’s Education Committee and also served as Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Office Committee and Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Assembly Business Trust.
His academic background includes a prestigious Frank Knox Fellowship for study in Public Policy and Public Administration at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, alongside a BA (Hons) in Politics and English from Queen’s University Belfast.
Chris combines strategic insight with practical experience of policymaking, stakeholder engagement and organisational leadership, enabling clients to influence policy and strengthen their reputation and relationships in an increasingly complex public affairs landscape. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
